Thump

The little heart is pumping in a strong and steady rate. We heard it loud and clear in the tiny office of our nice, doctor man. What a comforting sound it was.

Sometimes, though, I still feel a bit of resentment due to my abdication of any control over my body.

I spit saliva like a construction worker due to my excessive salivation. My appetite's gone haywire and I'm craving for weird stuff like chicken adobo with green peas. My stomach heaves with every unpleasant smell I encounter. My chest hurts when I hurl. I tire easily while walking short distances.

But hearing those thumps made it all worthwhile.

I should start enjoying this instead of griping most of the time.
