More pics!

Hubby gave me a new phone for Christmas! =) My old and battered 1100 can now retire. It's a no-frill camera phone, but I'm loving its sleek and slim features. It fits right into my jeans backpocket.

Thanks my darling! (
Pressured na'ko maghanap ng gift....)

Meet Maya. She's my Kuya Nino and his gf Loresh's 10 month old baby Rottweiler. She usually hangs around our house and I get to take care of her sometimes which includes walking her and making sure she's always answering the call of nature. =). She's a gentle dog...I don't even think that she's aware that she's a Rottweiler. She's a real softie. =). I love big dogs.

Freefall

While I'm busy trying to organize my affairs such as our Team's Christmas Party presentation (ergo, my husband in afro..see previous and recent posts)and my baby shower in addition to balancing work, wifey-hood, and being me at the same time, I got to spend time with some of my bestest friends during the course of this week.

I can't even remember the last time that Freefall had been together as a group.

Our erratic schedules is actually the main culprit why we don't see each other as much.

Before, everybody would just converge at the condo that I'm renting for planned and impromptu eat-overs, sleep-overs, and drinking sessions.

Everything suddenly shifted mid-year. There had been major changes that had happened to each of us. Everyone had their own crises, and two days ago, I learned that apparently, some of them are still struggling with their own personal issues until now.

It just saddens me. And yes, as I've said to Jhamie, I feel a little guilty for having so much right now and for being this peaceful and contented. But Jhamie, said that we don't have to feel guilty.

Some people just need to put themselves together in their own pace and time...

Full Stomach

My mom, brother, husband and I indulged ourselves at Tramway Garden Buffet over at Tomas Morato a couple of weeks ago. It's only Php189 per head, and it can be worth your money.

I don't want to say that it's a Chinese buffet because there's a platter of California Maki at the Buffet table and few Filipino dishes as well, soooo....

I had to fight off a few matrons over this plate of buchis. They don't last over a minute at the buffet table. As soon as the server puts the plate down, it'll disappear in seconds, guaranteed.

Caught my brother in a pensive mood...perhaps he's thinking of what to eat next...=).

I've sworn off dumplings for the next three months.

Caved

I was just passing by the bookstore...I swear...but I just knew that I had to have this.

That's it. No more impulsive and reckless shopping for the rest of the month....

Love in the Time of Cholera

Yay or nay? Frankly, I'm not even daring to hope. We all know how some adaptations turn out.

Test Shots

We spent our rest days at Valenzuela. I got test out our new digicam. Some shots are still amateurish, I know, but I do hope to get better before our little one arrives. I'd be taking a million photos of him before he even starts walking. Hehe.

This book was a Wedding Gift from husband. =). I love it so much.

As far as I know, the only other copy here in Manila can be found at the Humanities section of the UST Library and it's not even borrowable. When we were doing research on archetypes for our Creative Writing class, this book came in handy but I only got to photocopy a few pages because of library policies.

I've always been fascinated with fairies since 4th grade. I used to look for fairy rings around the grassy area in my school because they say that if you step into one, you would be able to see them. No such luck yet for me, though.

The upside of being sick, I get to eat what I want and what I wanted was a no-frill chicken macaroni salad that my mom promptly made for me. Hihi.

Chicken bits. Good! Pasta. Good! Cheese bits. Go-ood!

My husband and I were watching Discovery Channel's Travel and Living and they were featuring Portuguese food. When they got to the dessert portion, I salivated at the little cups of caramel creme being shown on the television that I begged my mom to whip up a batch of the local version of creme caramel, The Leche Flan.

Nobody cooks 'Flan' the way my mom does. It's creamy, not-too-sweet and not those gross gelatinous concoction that they mass produce at Goldilocks.

I ate half of this serving and by the end of the day, my tonsils have swollen probably the size of a grape. Eh, but it was worth it.

My mom not only cooked a batch, but she made sure that I get to take home a bigger flan for myself.

My mom is the best-est!!!!

This is me. Look how big my tummy is? I'd be 6 months pregnant next week.

Can you believe it? Because sometimes, I still can't.

This is my husband. He is either too serious or too goofy on his pictures.

Oh no...

...I feel the onset of a flu coming. Headache, runny nose, lots of achoos, and loss of appetite.

I'm drowning myself in liquid as I write this.

So not a good time to be sick.

*****UPDATE*****

It has now progressed to a full blown cold. Nose is clogged, splitting headache, and proclaiming Spam as bland.

Stupid BiogesicTM is just not doing it for me but that's the only medication that I'm allowed to take as of now.

I can't file for Sick Leave because I'm understaffed today. Thank God I didn't have to take any sup calls. But if I still feel like this tomorrow, I'm definitely filing for one.

Have a nice and healthy weekend everyone!
